Sick..Sick SICK!

Well... its that time of year for SICKNESS! and may I add that I hate it!!! Not for the fact that I am sick but for the fact that my sweet little 16 month old is so sick that it just hurts my heart.

Cooper has never really been sick. Hes a pretty healthy baby. But sometimes you just cant do anything from stopping that stupid bug. Friday night Cooper woke up with a small fever. I thought that maybe he was just teething. Gave him some Tylenol and went back to bed. The next morning he was better. But I noticed a low raspy cough. Not like a common cold cough but more of a dry, kind of cough that sounded like it hurt. We went to Grandmas and I didn't really think anything of it.

3:00 p.m rolls around and He is just burning up! That scared me that he was so hot. My Pediatrician always tells to me he may get a cough. runny nose, things like that but..... if he has a fever always bring him in.It was Saturday. Luckily Cam was able to get off of work early and we went straight to Instacare.

My first thought was that He had strep. My cousins kids who I watch every day, her youngest just had strep so I'm thinking Cooper got is somehow. As we wait Cooper cuddling Daddy and just trying not to move..waiting..waiting and waiting...The Doc finally walks in and at that moment (PERFECT TIMING) Cooper coughs..... The doc looks at me and says that almost sounds like a croup cough. (LAST ON MY MIND) Then we had to do x-rays... K any of you parent had to to x-rays for your child?? WORST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!

The child's x-ray machine is very different from the adult x-ray machine. Its almost like a harness that they put him in. So he is vertical, Then they clasp his stomach and chest with plastic so he wont move. Then they strap his head and his arms are up in the air. My poor baby didn't know what was going on. There could only be one person in the room and so Daddy went with him.He said the look on Coopers face was so sad. :( Breaks my heart. But they do it for a reason!

Sure enough it is croup. They gave him a one time steroid and told us to monitor is breathing.

Sunday night...... he did not sleep at ALL. He slept for maybe 4 hours. When he did wake up hehad a fever again! I gave him some Tylenol and about an hour later his fever was gone. But I just had this gut feeling that I needed to take him to see our pediatrician. So back to the doc we go.

Doc. checks him out and what do you know double ear infection! Will this ever end??? I sure hope so cuz I hate seeing my baby sick like this. They don't prepare you for this kind of heartache do they??

Daddy giving loves to sick baby Cooper.

Cant get enough of Mr. Cooper!

Cooper is now 16 months! 16 MONTHS! I cannot believe that my little baby is turning more into a little boy more and more. He is the best thing that has ever happened in our lives. Everyday he brings such joy, laughter, happiness and so much more. Being his mother is the best thing ever. He is the sweetest most precious boy in the whole world.

When his Cousin Hadley cries Cooper runs over to her and says "oh" and looks at her with concern. He sure loves baby Hadley. One time when we were at Walmart he heard a baby crying. He looks at us and starts bawling. He was just so sad for whoever was sad. That's how sweet my baby is.

Running around and Climbing like a crazy boy. His new fav thing to do is run around in circles. But with new braveness comes new owies! There has been 2 times when my little boy was so daring he wanted to go down the stairs so quickly that he fell down.Worse feeling in the whole world. Yeah, I bawled my eyes out.  and of course that night he wanted to climb he fell out of his crib. But he is tough. I think tougher then I am.

It amazes me at how smart Coop is.

Merry Christmas!!!

This year for Christmas we went down and spent it in Roy with Cams family. His parents live in Arizona and this year they decided to come down to spend the holidays here in Utah. Cooper is now older and is more aware of what is going on. So we were extra excited for Christmas this year.

My family has a tradition every Christmas eve we open a present and they are pajamas. So Cooper opened his and they were some warm fuzzy pj's!

That night Cam and I got all of Coopers presents out and put them under the tree. Just like my parents did when I was little and in the morning he would have surprises waiting for him.

Christmas morning we all woke up. My in laws and  I sat by the tree and we were so excited to see how Cooper would react. Of course while he was opening presents he would get distracted with the paper and boxes. But once all the presents where open he was having a hay day with all the toys that he got from Santa, Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa. He was spoiled that is for sure. I would have to say it was our best Christmas yet.

Aggie Basketball Game

Not too long ago we went to the Aggie basketball game. We were debating on whether or not to bring Cooper with us. We didn't know if was gong to be loud or not. But we did anyway and he had so much fun. He loved it ! he is defiantly a people person that is for sure. He loves to sit and watch people.

Heres what happens when The music played.

So I pretty much have one of the best jobs ever. I get to spend the mornings with my son and my cousins kids. I watch her kids every morning for a couple hours a day.

One day we decided that we were going to make play dough  Thank goodness for pintrest !! I was able to find a recipe pinned. I like to try and do one big activity a week with the kids. Play dough it was for that week.

The kids helped me mix the ingredients (which wasnt many) baked it on the stove and wala! Its done and the fun begins!

Halloween And playing in the leafs!

Halloween this year was extra special for our family. This year we were able to dress Cooper up and take him trick or treating. Last year he was too little to take. But this year he knew a little but not all about Halloween.

He was still too little (in our opinion)to take him actual trick or treating outside. So we took him to the cash valley mall. He had so much fun. Looking at all the other kids dressed up and getting lots of candy.

One kid at the mall was dressed kinda scary and Cooper saw him. He started to cry. :( Too Scary for Cooper!! it was funny but sad  at the same time.

For this year he dressed up as a Monkey and he was a cute one at that!

Helping Grandma rake leafs.

Yum!

He didnt want his picture taken!

Pumpkin painting

Everyone has to do pumpkin carving or I saw a lot this year was pumpkin painting. So as a family we thought it would be fun to try the pumpkin painting and Cooper would be able to do it as well.

My mom actually grew her own pumpkins this year. So we used those. I just love doing things as a family. Making memories with our son. Everyday it just gets better and better.

PuMpKiN WaLk

Yes, I know the pumpkin walk was forever ago, and that just shows you how far behind I am in my blog writing.

I love the age that Cooper is now. It is so fun! We get to do more things with him and he now knows what they are and also enjoys doing it. This fall we took him to the pumpkin walk. He just loved it. Looking at all the different pumpkins. Listening to the music as we pass the different themed pumpkins, and it was such nice weather you'd think it was summer!

A very sad day.

A little while ago we had to put my family dog down. It was such a sad day to see my dusty dog go. But we knew that it was the right choice in putting her down. She was so old and her health was just declining.

Our family first met dusty 15 years ago on Christmas day. We were so excited to get a dog!My family is animal lovers big time.  I was in 3rd grade, my brother was in 4th and my sister in 1st. So you can only imagine how close we were to her.

My favorite memories of our house dog was when I would get home from school she would be laying in MY bed waiting for us kids to get home. I felt like I was the cool one because she would be laying in my bed and not anyone else's.

Another memory that comes to mind was when she had her first set of puppies. Ok, I cant say set. Because she only had one. How odd is that? you rarely hear of a dog having one puppy. But he was HUGE! After that one she had two more litters. Six puppies and the next eight.

It was so fun to have that many puppies around! The hardest part was letting them go to other families. But I think it was a good experience for any child to experience.

I think it was awesome that Cooper got to experience a little of my childhood and meet her before she left us.

Dusty was a great dog and she will be missed.

Cooper just loved her.
