SPRING FEVER.

This past week the weather has been so nice, Mr.Coop has been wanting to be outside 24/7! Cameron had a couple days off this past week so we decided to do something together as a family and to be outside! How could you not in such great weather.

We took Cooper to first dam to have a picnic and to feed the ducks. It was so fun.(Coop didn't do much eating. He was too distracted) He loved throwing the bread to the ducks and watching them eat it. They even came close enough to eat the bread out of our hands. The funny thing is Coop even got sunburned on his little face. I guess spring is really here! ABOUT TIME!!

Life as we know it.

Life as we know it just moves too fast. The other day my sister showed me a video that she had of Cooper last summer. I couldn't not stop thinking about it! Oh my word.. I could not believe how little he was then. I have mixed emotions about seeing my baby so little. All the progress he has made, Watching him grow bigger and bigger and seeing him be more independent every day.. Is the best feeling in the world.  But missing my sweet little baby who loved to be held 24/7, Being so little and missing those chubby legs that have now thinned out.

Before I had Cooper other parents told us that you would never know what love truly is until you have a child of your own. These past 17 months I have learned to know that. I cant imagine what life was like before Mr. Coop was born. Cam and I were married 4 years before we had Coop. I am glad that we waited... BUT having Cooper has been the greatest blessing I have ever been given. Cam can testify too that.

It truly amazes me how smart my little boy is. I don't know where he got it from. I know its not from me! Maybe his Daddy??

Being a mother I feel like I have a big responsibility with how Cooper spends his days. I try not have him in front of the TV very often. So we made BATH PAINTS! Of course he had a blast with it. But I think my clean freak intuition is rubbing off on him because he DOES NOT like his hands dirty. While he was painting he got some on his hands and feet. He just looked and me and said "off" It was pretty dang cute. :) So I had to wipe it off before he would start painting again.. little does he know he will just get more on him. But it was too cute too not wipe it off for him.

Then we did a picnic in the living room at Michele's house. Olivia, Madi, Wyatt and Cooper thought it was pretty neat that they got it eat their snack as well as their lunch in the living room while watching a movie (Pocahontas)

Another exciting event was VALENTINES DAY! I woke up to some pretty pink roses and a lovely note from my hubby. Cooper woke up too a stuffed monkey. At work with the kids, we made valentines cookies. from scratch even! I have never made cookies from scratch. (I usually cheat and buy the packaged kind)

Recently Cooper has been wanting to help Mommy with the house work.. and its actually kind of nice! He now throws things away from Mom and Dad, and LOVES to help Mom wipe the counters and floors. He def is Mommys helper!

With all this sunny weather ( def not warm...but sunny) We had to get out. So we went on a walk for the first time in a LONG time. Cooper loves to be outside! He was laughing the whole time. Excited to be doing something different.

Another reason why Feb. is a good month is because its my BIRTHDAY! :) This year was a good one! Mark my brother in law and his girlfriend made me dinner and we watched a movie. Then this past weekend I celebrated with friends. We went to lunch.. at Takara my favorite sushi place in the WHOLE world! Then we went to the movie Identity thief. It was hilarious  Def one of the funniest movies I have seen a while.. Then my best friend surprised me with a PEDICURE.  I was spoiled for sure!!!

Going for a ride!

Speaking of first's. Cooper had another first this past week or so, and that was riding his very first RIDE! at walmart :) as we were checking out from grocery shopping Coop started to get a little fussy. So cam took him over to the rides.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED NEXT :

Sledding!!

Last Saturday we took Coop sledding for the very first time. Needless to say, He didnt like it all that much. But I think the more we go the more he will learn to enjoy it.

But I have to say I haven't been sledding in a very long time. I think that is one of the many reasons why it is so awesome to be a parent. You get to relive your childhood, In a way While your children experience their first's. Cam and I had a lot of fun! Im excited to share many first's with my little boy.

Sick..Sick SICK!

Well... its that time of year for SICKNESS! and may I add that I hate it!!! Not for the fact that I am sick but for the fact that my sweet little 16 month old is so sick that it just hurts my heart.

Cooper has never really been sick. Hes a pretty healthy baby. But sometimes you just cant do anything from stopping that stupid bug. Friday night Cooper woke up with a small fever. I thought that maybe he was just teething. Gave him some Tylenol and went back to bed. The next morning he was better. But I noticed a low raspy cough. Not like a common cold cough but more of a dry, kind of cough that sounded like it hurt. We went to Grandmas and I didn't really think anything of it.

3:00 p.m rolls around and He is just burning up! That scared me that he was so hot. My Pediatrician always tells to me he may get a cough. runny nose, things like that but..... if he has a fever always bring him in.It was Saturday. Luckily Cam was able to get off of work early and we went straight to Instacare.

My first thought was that He had strep. My cousins kids who I watch every day, her youngest just had strep so I'm thinking Cooper got is somehow. As we wait Cooper cuddling Daddy and just trying not to move..waiting..waiting and waiting...The Doc finally walks in and at that moment (PERFECT TIMING) Cooper coughs..... The doc looks at me and says that almost sounds like a croup cough. (LAST ON MY MIND) Then we had to do x-rays... K any of you parent had to to x-rays for your child?? WORST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!

The child's x-ray machine is very different from the adult x-ray machine. Its almost like a harness that they put him in. So he is vertical, Then they clasp his stomach and chest with plastic so he wont move. Then they strap his head and his arms are up in the air. My poor baby didn't know what was going on. There could only be one person in the room and so Daddy went with him.He said the look on Coopers face was so sad. :( Breaks my heart. But they do it for a reason!

Sure enough it is croup. They gave him a one time steroid and told us to monitor is breathing.

Sunday night...... he did not sleep at ALL. He slept for maybe 4 hours. When he did wake up hehad a fever again! I gave him some Tylenol and about an hour later his fever was gone. But I just had this gut feeling that I needed to take him to see our pediatrician. So back to the doc we go.

Doc. checks him out and what do you know double ear infection! Will this ever end??? I sure hope so cuz I hate seeing my baby sick like this. They don't prepare you for this kind of heartache do they??

Daddy giving loves to sick baby Cooper.

Cant get enough of Mr. Cooper!

Cooper is now 16 months! 16 MONTHS! I cannot believe that my little baby is turning more into a little boy more and more. He is the best thing that has ever happened in our lives. Everyday he brings such joy, laughter, happiness and so much more. Being his mother is the best thing ever. He is the sweetest most precious boy in the whole world.

When his Cousin Hadley cries Cooper runs over to her and says "oh" and looks at her with concern. He sure loves baby Hadley. One time when we were at Walmart he heard a baby crying. He looks at us and starts bawling. He was just so sad for whoever was sad. That's how sweet my baby is.

Running around and Climbing like a crazy boy. His new fav thing to do is run around in circles. But with new braveness comes new owies! There has been 2 times when my little boy was so daring he wanted to go down the stairs so quickly that he fell down.Worse feeling in the whole world. Yeah, I bawled my eyes out.  and of course that night he wanted to climb he fell out of his crib. But he is tough. I think tougher then I am.

It amazes me at how smart Coop is.

Merry Christmas!!!

This year for Christmas we went down and spent it in Roy with Cams family. His parents live in Arizona and this year they decided to come down to spend the holidays here in Utah. Cooper is now older and is more aware of what is going on. So we were extra excited for Christmas this year.

My family has a tradition every Christmas eve we open a present and they are pajamas. So Cooper opened his and they were some warm fuzzy pj's!

That night Cam and I got all of Coopers presents out and put them under the tree. Just like my parents did when I was little and in the morning he would have surprises waiting for him.

Christmas morning we all woke up. My in laws and  I sat by the tree and we were so excited to see how Cooper would react. Of course while he was opening presents he would get distracted with the paper and boxes. But once all the presents where open he was having a hay day with all the toys that he got from Santa, Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa. He was spoiled that is for sure. I would have to say it was our best Christmas yet.
